Deschutes County IDD Events for February 2021

With the Pandemic beginning to lighten up a little bit, I’m sure everyone is exhausted. But we must not let our guard down! One little slip could put us months behind on ending this pandemic for good. With that in mind, here are some new events in Deschutes county for IDD people, that are safe for you and your families to attend.

 

Thursday, February 4th 4-5pm “Peron Centered Planning Webinar” *FREE*WiWi

Learn how to make a person-centered plan as a a tool to share with PSWs’, educators and others working with your child. Register online at codsn.org

 

Saturday, Februrary 6th 4-7pm “Museum and Me” *FREE-registration required*

A quieter time for children and adults who experience physical, intellectual and/or social disabilities to enjoy the High Desert Museum after hours. Explore the Museum’s newest exhibits and revisit your favorites. Be sure to snap photos of your loved ones in our winter wonderland photo backdrop. Free for individuals, family and friends. Saturday, Februrary 6th 12-2pm “Craft your heart out: Grab and Go Kits”

Heart craft kits available Saturdays in February at all library locations while supplies last.
Drop in and pickup seasonal craft kits from any library location during business hours on Saturdays in February! Each kit contains supplies to make a seasonal craft at home. New projects featured every week. Kits available while supplies last.

Join guest speaker Shauna Signorini Resilience and Trauma Educator. Shauna is a national speaker on trauma and children’s mental health. Her lived experience parenting a child with a neurodevelopmental disability led her to learn about trauma.
